Dear Dean and Marlene:

I just had to write to let you know how fabulous our experience with you has been over the past few years.

If you remember, we originally found you through a friend's recommendation after our unbelievably poor experience at one of Calgary's largest motorcycle/ATV dealers.  I was looking for a quad for my little guy, Jess, who was 10 at the time.  Jesse is short for his age, not very strong and does have some physical limitations.  We found a really cool Yamaha 50 at this "other" cycle shop...went in, checked it out...Jesse sat on it and was quite taken with it.  I wasn't sure if he was strong enough to actually drive the thing and turn the handlebars.  So, I asked the sales rep if Jesse could do a little test-drive in their parking lot on this 50cc ATV...for 5 minutes or so and I would be happy to pay $5 or $10 for gas.  He said no way...I would have to buy the quad...and if Jesse could not manage the vehicle, it would be my problem...no refunds, no exchange!

Needless to say this sales pitch of putting the customer "last" did not work very well with me!  Now, It's a couple of weeks later and Jesse and I are heading down to Okotoks to Gold Star, after talking to Dean on the phone.  It is a week night and we can't get there until after your regular closing...well, no problem as Dean was willing to stay late for us.  As we pull into the parking lot at Gold Star, there sits a brand new, freshly polished NITRO FRX70 quad for Jesse..  He is so excited!  Dean gives him a few pointers and off he goes ripping around the parking lot and having a Hoot...SOLD!  This seals the deal...we load it up onto our truck, pay (some $500 less than the other ATV) and we're off.  Since then we have been down to your shop for a regular oil change and another service issue (no charge) and have been treated royally...and Jesse still talks about Dean and how great you were to him!

We'll probably see you soon, as Jesse may soon be able to manage a 90cc model.

In our frantic, techno world it is very reassuring to still find small businesses that take pride in their work and a personal interest in their customers.  Gold Star  is a golden example . 

Gold Star came to my rescue a few years ago when it became necessary for me to learn to operate various pieces of equipment around my acreage. I told Dean that I needed a bomb proof ride-on lawn mower and that I would also need a crash course on what to do if one day it didn’t start.  He recommended a Country Clipper and It has been everything he promised.  In fact, I tend to go on and on about it whenever I have an audience.

Since that purchase, I have taken weed whips, blower, etc. to Gold Star for servicing and have always had quality, prompt and friendly service. Whenever I have any questions they are always very willing to help.

I have the utmost confidence in Gold Star, which, for a woman with no mechanical ability, has been a God send. I have and will continue to recommend Gold Star to all my friends.
